Engine Quote Comparison Calculator
The sticker price on an engine quote is rarely the number you'll actually pay. Core deposits, freight both ways, your shop's installation labor, and — the one everybody misses — what the warranty actually reimburses, all change the math. Enter up to three quotes below and this calculator shows the true total for each, plus what you're paying per mile of warranty coverage. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is saved or sent anywhere.

True Cost Comparison
Net cost assumes your core is accepted and refunded in full — see how core deposits work. "$ per 1,000 warranty miles" uses net cost divided by warranty miles; it's a value yardstick, not a prediction.
How to Use the Numbers
Two quotes that look $800 apart can be $200 apart once core handling and freight are included — or the "cheap" one can flip to most expensive. The two traps to watch: a low unit price paired with a parts-only warranty (you carry all the labor risk of a failure), and hidden freight that appears after you've committed. Before deciding, run the seller's warranty through our warranty grader and ask the 10 questions — in writing.
